From Rubble to Shelter

Several years ago, during the war that devastated much of my city in Syria, my home was severely damaged. The walls were cracked, the roof partially collapsed, and many of the rooms became unsafe to live in. Since then, I have been unable to repair it due to the lack of financial resources. At the moment, I do not have a safe and stable place to live with my wife and our three young children. Within the next month, we will lose the temporary shelter we have been relying on, and if we cannot find a solution, we will be forced to live on the streets without protection from the elements or basic necessities. This situation is frightening, as my children are very young, and I cannot bear to see them suffer or be exposed to danger.

I work daily in jobs that pay minimal wages, which are barely enough to cover bread and basic food for my family. Many days, we struggle to have three proper meals, and there are times when I have to choose between feeding my children and covering other basic needs. In addition to these difficulties, I am burdened with debts, and unfortunately, here in Syria, there are no banks that provide long-term loans or financial support for families like mine. The situation feels hopeless, and yet I want to give my children a chance at a dignified life.

The estimated cost to repair and make my house fully livable again is around 12,000 US dollars. This sum is completely beyond my reach, but it represents the only opportunity to provide my children with a safe and secure home. By repairing our house, we can protect them from the cold, give them stability, and allow them to continue their education without fear. My goal is not to have luxuries or unnecessary comforts; I simply wish to restore a home where my children can sleep peacefully and grow in a safe environment.
