I am a mother from Gaza… writing these words with a heart full of pain, fear, and helplessness.
My little daughter Sham was not meant to live this life. She was meant to laugh, to play, to run freely like any other child. But war took everything from her.
On November 19, 2023, a piece of shrapnel struck her small head. In a single moment, her life was shattered. She now suffers from partial paralysis, severe pain, and burns across her tiny body.
Since that day… Sham no longer laughs the same.
She no longer plays.
She no longer moves without pain.
Sometimes she looks at me with eyes full of questions I cannot answer…
“Why can’t I walk?”
“Why does it hurt?”
And I stand there… broken… unable to help my own child.
We are living in displacement under extremely harsh conditions, with no proper shelter, no sufficient food, and no real medical care. Every day is a struggle for survival.
Sham urgently needs:
Continuous physical therapy and rehabilitation
Ongoing medical care and medication
A suitable tent for safe living conditions
Special nutrition food adapted to her medical condition and severe malnutrition
High medical treatment costs that I cannot afford
A CP wheelchair for her condition
But I am unable to provide any of it.
I am not asking for luxury… I am asking for my daughter’s chance to live.
Every night, I fear losing her.
Every day, her pain increases.
And I feel completely powerless in front of her suffering.
